Tonitrus, the thunderbird of Eloram, like his brothers and sisters are an offshoot of their more famous cousins, the phoenixes. These beasts too cycle between life and death, but their path along that circle is paved with lightning and ice rather than flame and fire. It was thirty cycles in when Tonitrus was last seen. He had fallen at the ambush of Fort Eloram by the Haala phoenixes. The phoenixes ensured the sky shone bright, preventing any chance of clouds gathering, and therefore any chance of Tonitrus, or any of the other fallen thunderbirds being reborn in thunder and lightning. Now, as the clouds gather during these changing times, he has returned.
