Proudbeak is one of the many winged beasts that guard the Calanti Crevasse. These fang-beaks stand perched at the top of the tree canopy; each within their own territorial zone, yet ensuring their colorful heads remain visible to one another. However, scholars have observed that these territories not only serve as individual domains for a fang-beak and its mate, but also as part of a greater, flock-wide security system. Any disturbance within their own territory of responsibility causes a reactive head movement that the rest of the fang-beaks see, diverting all focus to that zone, and ensuring the protection of the flock as a whole.
