Iridoz is not a Precursor or a younger dragon, but rather a protodrake – a centuries-old attempt by Theras to use magic to improve the flight capabilities and armor of lesser flying reptiles. In this, she was entirely successful, but the notes chronicling her experimental techniques were stolen – most likely by Slern – and quickly circulated among the other gods, leading to a profusion of sturdier, more hearty-winged draconic creations. Somewhat displeased by the fact that her beloved protodrake was no longer quite so unique, Theras was at least satisfied by the fact that her experiment was reproducible, and set about crafting even larger variants…
